JF Apex Research expects Genting Bhd, LPI Capital Bhd, Sunway Bhd, Pavilion Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust (CMMT) and Uzma Bhd to be among the stocks to watch on Wednesday.
Genting’s US subsidiary has reached a settlement agreement with Wynn Resorts.
LPI Capital’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2018 rose 1.2% to RM84mil from RM83mil a year earlier. Its revenue for the quarter increased 7% year-on-year to RM389.03mil from RM363.49mil.
Sunway has set up a sukuk programme to raise RM10bil in nominal value to finance its investment activities, capital expenditure and working capital.
Pavillion REIT saw net property income increase 13.4% in its 4Q results while CMMT’s 4Q net profit dropped 35%.
Uzma plans to buy another 15% stake in Setegap Ventures Petroleum for RM36mil.
Meanwhile, US markets ended slightly higher amid corporate earnings and US-China trade talks. Earlier, European stocks rose ahead of Brexit vote.
“Following the positive performance in the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could climb towards its resistance of 1,710 points,” JF Apex said.
